Spur runner-up in Area track meet

Sixteen Spur students will advance to the Regional meet Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27 at Angelo State University. The Bulldogs were the runner-up at the Area meet that was held Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in Munday.

HORSE JUDGING: Dickens County 4-H had 11 young people participate in the District 3 horse judging contest last week. They had two juniors compete, Rylynn Beshirs and Kadyn Taylor.

SIXTEEN TO SAN ANGELO: Spur advanced 16 students to the Regional track meet which will be held Friday and Saturday at Angelo State in San Angelo.

Guthrie, Jayton advance to State UIL

Of the 53 high schools in Region 2, Class 1A in Texas Spur Country, both Guthrie and Jayton achieved high standings in the University Interscholastic League Spring Meet competition April 12–13, 2019, at Angelo State University. Guthrie High School finished first overall.

Spur runner-up at district track

The District track meet was held last Wednesday in Jayton and Spur, and Spur finished as runner-up in both the boys’ and girls’ competitions. The first-place team for the boys was Paducah, and the first-place team for the girls was Guthrie.
