Jayton Girl Scouts develop skills, serve community

Girl Scout Troop 7115 had another great year of developing life skills and serving the community, which remains at the heart of the troop.

ACTUAL LAST NIGHT:

The Last Night of Ballyhoo was performed for the final time by the award-winning One-Act Play company of Guthrie High School in a local public performance on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at the school.

DISTRICT WINNERS:

The Jayton boys junior high track team won district at last month’s meet.

Spur 3rd graders on air at KCBD

Spur Elementary 3rd graders and homeroom teachers, Tee Hale and Pat Hightower, toured KCBD News Channel 11 in Lubbock on April 16. Tour guide and reporter Curtis Heyen showed the class the ins and outs of TV reporting. He demonstrated how the green screen works.

Spur makes school history, wins Regional track meet

For the first time in school history the Spur Bulldogs won the Region 2, 1A track meet. The event occurred Friday and Saturday at Angelo State University in San Angelo and had several notable performances.

FISHING REPORT

Lake Alan Henry Water clear main lake and 63 degrees, stained up the river and 70 degrees; 2.22' low. Black bass are good on topwaters and fair on Texas rigged Power Worms and Z–Man TRDs. Crappie bite is improving. Catfishing is good upriver on cut bait.
