JAYTON BASKETBALL ACTION: On Tuesday, Feb. 5, the varsity Lady Jays defeated Paducah, 34-32; the varsity Jaybirds fell to Paducah in a close game, 45-43. On Friday, Feb. 8, the varsity Jaybirds defeated Patton Springs, 64-31, and on Monday, Feb.

Spurettes, Bulldogs, Lady Rangers pursue playoffs

At press time the Spurettes and the Bulldogs were in the hunt for basketball playoff bids. The Spurettes (8-1) were set to host the Patton Springs Lady Rangers (9-0) Tuesday, Feb. 5 in the Domes. Whoever won that game set up a domino effect of district implications.

JAYTON BASKETBALL ACTION: On Monday, Jan. 29, the varsity Jaybirds defeated Spur, 54-44; the varsity Lady Jays fell to Spur in a close game, 57-52. On Friday, Feb. 1, the varsity Jaybirds defeated Guthrie, 81-24; the varsity Lady Jays also defeated Guthrie, 64-27.

Lake Alan Henry Water clear main lake, stained up the river; 42–51 degrees; 5.15' low. Black bass are slow. Crappie are slow to fair on live minnows. Catfish are fair on cut and live bait. Lake Colorado City Water fairly clear; 46–52 degrees; 12.31' low. Black bass are slow on shakyheads and jigs.

Lady Rangers clinch playoff spot; face Spurettes Feb. 5

At press time the Patton Springs Lady Rangers are 7-0 in 1A Region II District 15 play. On their heels are the Spur Spurettes at 6-1. The Spurettes will be hosting the Lady Rangers Tuesday, February 5 at 6:30 p.m. in Spur — for the last game of district play.
