Jayton dominates battle of top 10’s

It was the Division 1 #9-ranked Hermleigh Cardinals who came to town Friday night, Sept. 26, to face the Division 2 #1-ranked Jayton Jaybirds.
The contest ended at the half to the tune of a 52-0 blowout in favor of the Jaybirds.

Spur scores with heart against Paducah

On Sept. 26, 2025, the Spur Bulldogs played Paducah at Jones Stadium at 7:30 p.m. The Bulldogs fought hard and had some grit during the game but came up short.
The Bulldogs started off with an onside kick from Paducah. #1 Brody Dempsey caught the ball to start the game.

Dickens County 4-H is actively engaged in the fall contest season.
Extension agent Amanda Spiva is serving as coach for all horse events. Those interested in joining the horse judging team, Skill-a-Thon, or Quiz Bowl are encouraged to contact her at the office.

On a night when the 1985 state champion Jaybirds and their vaunted 40game win streak were remembered, history seemed to be repeating itself on the field.
Now forty years later and the Jaybirds have returned to dominance.

Spur falls to Meadow 44-18
Spur falls to Meadow 44-18

Spur played Meadow at Jones Stadium for Homecoming on September 19,
2025. The Bulldogs fought hard but came up short.
Meadow won the toss to start the game and elected to receive the ball in the second half. The Broncos kicked the opening kickoff deep to #10 Margarito Pesina.
