Jayton defeats another 2A opponent, Reagan Co. 65-44

Jayton lost to 2A Reagan County back in February 2023, but that defeat didn’t repeat last week. The Jaybirds stopped the Reagan County Owls with a definitive 65-44 victory.

KENT 4-H HONORS

KENT 4-H HONORS Last week, 10 Kent County 4-H members competed at the San Angelo Stock Show Food Challenge contest. All three of the county’s teams finished in the top 10 in their respective divisions.

Spur basketball splits games with Paducah; Patton falls to state-ranked Valley

SPUR BASKETBALL Last week, the Spurettes pulled out a big win over Paducah, defeating the Lady Dragons 88-6. The Bulldogs fought hard but came up short, falling to the Dragons 58-33.

Jayton Schools post 3rd 6 weeks honor rolls

The following students enrolled in Jayton Schools earned “A” Honor Roll for the 3rd 6 weeks of the 2024–25 school year.

#1 Jaybirds top Aspermont 62-29, leads district, continues win streak with 1A schools

The #1-in-the-state Jayton Jaybirds boys basketball squad pushed their season record to 9-2 last week, defeating the Aspermont Hornets 62-29.

Spurettes topple #21 Guthrie

Last week the Spur girls varsity basketball travelled to Guthrie, where they defeated the Lady Jags (ranked #21 in the Texas Girls Coach Association last week), 56-26. The win brought their season record to 15-11 and 3-1 in district. The loss put Guthrie at 19-5 for the season and 2-2 in district.
