On December 5, five members of the Dickens County 4-H club attended the District 3 Contests for Livestock Skill-a-Thon and Ag Product Identification in Young County. Livestock Skill-a-Thon tests a member’s knowledge of breeds, equipment and feeds along with judging hay, wool and meat.

There is no secret that the rivalry between Benjamin and Jayton is real. It was Jayton eliminating Benjamin from the playoffs three years ago, and Benjamin eliminating Jayton last year en route to their second state championship.

The Spur Bulldogs traveled to Munday on Friday, Nov. 15, 2024, for the first round of the playoffs versus the Newcastle Bobcats— but it turned out to be their last of the season.

Jaybirds clinch 9th consecutive bi-district championship

Thanks to a late bye week, it had been two weeks since the Jaybirds had taken the field as they squared off with the Crowell Wildcats in Benjamin for the bi-district championship.
