Frankie Ruth McAlpin, 1945–2020

MARBLE FALLS—Frankie Ruth McAlpin, 74, of Marble Falls, Texas, passed peacefully on August 21, 2020. She was born to Calvin Frank and Johnnie Ruth (Brown) Walker on November 14, 1945, in Santa Anna, Texas.

Frankie worked several professions in her lifetime, retiring as a dispatcher for South Plains Electric Cooperative in 2012. She was a lifelong resident of Spur, Texas. She was a loving friend, mother, and grandmother, and was very protective of her family. She was a firecracker. You never had to wonder her opinion on life because she was willing to share. She enjoyed cooking and sharing her food with friends and coworkers. She had a keen sense of humor and enjoyed laughing at herself and her experiences.

She is survived by her son, J. Don McAlpin, and wife Patty of Marble Falls; grandchildren Ryan Artzer and Tiffany Artzer of Stanton, Texas, and Kate McAlpin and Libby McAlpin of Marble Falls; a brother, Freddie Walker, of Marble Falls, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Frankie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerry Don McAlpin, and her daughter, Tonya Artzer.

The family will have a private inurnment in Spur Cemetery, in Spur, Texas, at a later date. An online guest registry may be signed at www.PutnamCares.com.

Frankie’s care entrusted to Putnam Funeral Home and Crematory, 145 Texas Ave., Kingsland, Texas 78639, (325) 388-0008. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that any memorial be sent to the Spur Ex-Students Association, P.O. Box 243, Spur, Texas 79370.
