Gayle Massaro, 1956-2023

SPUR, TEXAS— On October 24, 2023, Gayle Massaro was called home with God after a brief illness. Gayle was born in Flint, Michigan, and lived in a few different states over the years. After a career in law enforcement, in 2017 she retired and settled in Spur.

Gayle had a bright smile and generous nature. She was always out and about in Spur and was very active in the community. She was an officer in the Spur Area Chamber of Commerce. Gayle also helped organize and participated in community events such as Trade Days market, the Big Dog Barbecue Cookoff, and the Halloween Trunk or Treat and rarely missed a city council meeting. She was also very involved in adoption of local stray/sheltered dogs and cats.

Gayle was a lifelong animal lover. At various times she owned horses, pot-bellied pigs, dogs, and cats. She is survived by her beloved companion animals Jake (German shepherd mix), Tilley (terrier mix) and Ms. Kitty (shorthaired domestic cat).

Gayle will be greatly missed, but is now at peace.
