Guadalupe “Lupita” Castillo, 1945–2021

Lupita Castillo, 76, of Spur, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2021. Born Octob er 15, 1945, she was the sixth child born to Leandro Molina and Epifania Moreno in Ecleto, Texas.

Lupita had various skills and talents that led her to work in the farming and food industry (as a cafeteria worker at Spur Elementary), the electronic industry (as an assembler for the National Transformer Corporation), the textile industry (as a seamstress for the local sewing factory), and the medical industry (as a home health care provider).

She is survived by her children, Jessica Adams (of Oklahoma City, Okla.), Christopher Castillo (of Spur, Texas), and Theadore Castillo (of Matador, Texas); along with 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, two brothers, four sisters, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Jackie Salinas; her husband, Cruz Castillo; three of her siblings; and numerous relatives.

She will be infinitely missed; however, her legacy will persevere.

A visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday Jan. 2, 2022, with a Rosary at 6 p.m., at Zapata Funeral Home in Spur, Texas.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday Jan. 3, 2022, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spur, with interment held at the Spur Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of the Zapata Funeral Home.
