Nelma Spraberry Finch, 1939–2021

DECATUR, TX.—Nelma Spraberry Finch passed from this life to her heavenly home Saturday, January 9, 2021, at home in Decatur, Texas.

Nelma was born to Arthur and Irene Leach Spraberry, March 28,1923, in Spur, Texas. She graduated from Spur High School in 1939 and married Earl Finch July 15, 1939. They were married for 69 years. She was his partner in the ministry. Nelma came from a strong line of women who lived life to the fullest. However, she was a daddy’s girl. She loved her native Texas. She was a woman of faith, grace, charm and a great sense of humor. She loved to sing and tell her stories. She loved telling stories to her children, her grandchildren and anyone who would listen. Nelma always had a smile and never met a stranger.

Nelma is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, two grandsons, and a great-granddaughter.

Nelma is survived by her four children: daughter La Juan Browning and husband Bill, Carolyn Graham, Larry Finch, and Sharon Peters and husband Walt; grandchildren Troy and Cindy Browning, Chris and Janice Braly, Tamilynn and Joe Ochoa, and Jacob and Christine Peters; great-grandchildren Taylor and Jana Browning, Julianna (Braly) and Allison Waller, Micah Braly, Zackery and McKayla Ochoa, and Paige Peters; great-great-grandchildren Aspen and Makena Browning; extended family; friends and parishioners.

Graveside services were held January 15, 2021 at the Spur Memorial Cemetery, Spur, Texas.
