Peggy Jo Eubank, 1926–2026

Peggy Jo Eubank, 99, of Jayton, passed away March 25, 2026 in Kent County Nursing Home. Services was held at 1 p.m. March 30, 2026, at Jayton Cemetery with Roy Chisum officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home.

Mrs. Eubank was born on July 20, 1926, in Hale County. She was the daughter of Charles Henry and Mary (Walker) Turner. She grew up in Kent County. She was a retired teacher and taught 36 years in Kent County Schools. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Woman’s University and a Master’s of Education degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She was a member of several educational organizations.

She was a member of Eastern Star and was a Baptist. She married John Joseph Neskorik Dec. 22, 1945 in Seymour, Texas. He died October 6, 1972 in Jayton, Texas.

She married Roy Wayne Eubank Dec. 22, 1989 in Jayton, Texas. He died Dec. 17, 2010 in Snyder, Texas.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Carson Adrain, Temple Clifton, and Charles Larry Turner; and two sisters, Norma Ruth Hodge and Cleo Helen Hewgley.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Carol Reid of Lubbock, Texas; one grandson, Geary Todd Dawson, his wife Leanne; a great-grandson, Robert Colt Collier, of Weatherford, Texas; and two sisters, Mary LaRue James and Rhoda Sue Hollaston, both of Lubbock, Texas. She also had seven nieces and six nephews.
