Dear Editors, As a longtime sponsor of the Dickens County Junior Livestock Show and the Kent County Livestock Show [DOUBLE-CHECK OFFICIAL NAMES], I would like to express a bit of praise for the young members of both of these groups.

Reader appreciates book recommendations

I just wanted to say thank you for the Library Notes section of The Texas Spur. I am constantly clipping the reviews from the paper and saving them. I had to share that the review on “Carnegie's Maid” by Marie Benedict led to me submitting it to my book club and it was approved for our list.

Spur council makes chief, officer permanent, removes probation

At its regular monthly meeting of March 15, 2022, the Spur city council handled a long agenda that involved hearing complaints from two citizens on unrelated issues, and ended with personnel actions related to probationary employment of three recently hired staff.

SCURRY SNYDER—The Snyder High School Senior Class of 2022 will host a two-man scramble golf tournament Saturday, March 19 at the Sammy Baugh Golf Course beginning at 9 a.m. The cost is $150 per team, with closest-to-the-pin awards. The tournament is open to the first 33 paid teams.
