Hometown Takeover: Where are they now?

In January 2020, Spur joined more than 2,600 towns across the U.S. vying to be selected by HGTV for a Hometown Takeover project. You may remember when a huge crowd of us gathered under the big spur to make a video pitch to the cable network.

Here we are again at that most rewarding time of year for graduates and their families—and the teachers, administrators, fans and community members who have cheered them on during twelve years of studies and achievements. It’s a moment to celebrate.

Getting in shape, writing a book, being diligent

Lofty summer goals, aren’t they? I figure if I set only three, then surely the chances of success are greater than a detailed personal to-do list for June, July, and August. Here I am. Bad knees and weight gain equate to more mileage on my body than it should have.

According to a report submitted to the Spur City Council on May 14, 2023, the Spur Police Department resopnded to a total of 53 calls for the month of April 2023.

Patton Springs boards canvasses bond vote in May meeting

In the regular meeting of the Patton Springs Independent School District board on May 15, Superintendent Bryan White presented current enrollment and attendance, end-ofyear activities, and awards. He also discussed 2023 current legislation and summer training opportunities.
