Kent commissioners debate incentives for employee wellness participation

In the regular meeting of the Kent County commissioners court, minutes of the court’s June 26 session were read and approved, noting items as follow. The employee health insurance plan approved. Tracy Woodward, consultant for the Kent County Nursing Home, reported on storm damage to the facility.

Dickens Commissioners hear fire departments’ annual reports

In the regular monthly meeting of the Dickens County Commissioners Court on July 10 first responders Will Humphreys, Dickens VFD; Mac Gardner, McAdoo VFD; Debi Gardner, Dickens County EMS; and Wes Abbott, Spur VFD presented annual reports for their departments.

House Democrats’ tax plan would help renters

AUSTIN— Texas House Democrats unveiled a $20.9 billion plan for property tax relief that drops tax rates, increases the homestead exemption, gives annual rebates to renters, and includes pay raises for teachers, the Austin American- Statesman reported.
