C.S. Lewis. Jerry Lewis. Jerry Lee Lewis. Huey Lewis. Ray Lewis. Carl Lewis. John Lewis. Meriwether Lewis. All but the first name are Americans, individuals who have made contributions to our country in entertainment, music, sport, and public service. Leon Lewis? Not a household name.

House pushes armed officer at all schools

Under legislation prioritized by House Speaker Dade Phelan, every Texas school would have an armed police officer, and aspiring teachers would receive extra support.

Take a break

Regardless of your status (with regard to schoolage children), spring break provides a welcome pause. Treating yourself to an afternoon drive or a week-long getaway is fun. We live in a beautiful state. Most of you also reside in an area of Texas rich in history.

Texas again leads nation in new corporate projects

Texas once again has topped the list for new and expanded corporate facilities added in a year, according to Site Selection Magazine. With 1,028 new projects in 2022, the state had more than the next two states combined – Illinois and Ohio.

Looking for a fundraiser? Opportunity with Spur Little League

Spur Little League is in need of someone to operate the 2023 Little League concession stand. The official game schedule will not be available until March 19, but games can start March 24 and go through May 31.

Treating visitors like a first date: Spur community-wide cleanup March 13-17

How many times have you been visiting with someone in Spur and the conversation turns to, “I wish Spur had a________.” Fill in the blank—it could be a car wash, a coffee shop, a pizza place, a laundromat and so forth.
