In its monthly report to the Spur City Council March 21, Spur Police Chief Billy R. Spears reported 30 calls for service during February 2023.

Spur city council receives new tools to aid in planning, infrastructure

It’s been a while in coming, but the long-term benefits to the City of Spur will be worth the wait: at its March 21 regular meeting, city council heard the final presentation on a package of digital mapping tools funded by a grant three years ago.

Dickens County earns zero lost time safety award from TAC Risk Management Pool

AUSTIN— Dickens County has earned a 2022 Zero Lost Time Safety Award from the Texas Association of Counties Risk Management Pool (TAC RMP) for its record of no lost work days during the 2022 coverage year.

Bill would require fentanyl education

ThedeathofaLeander High School graduate from a fentanyl overdose has prompted state Rep. Terry Wilson, R-Georgetown, to file a bill that would require 10 hours of education annually concerning the dangers of the drug to students in sixth grade and up, the Austin American-Statesman reported.
