Jayton School board working together to serve kids

Each year school boards across the state are charged with working with the superintendent of the district as a “Team of Eight” to serve the needs of the community in providing education for the kids in their respective district.

Jaybirds ground the Rangers 52–0

The Jayton Jaybirds improved upon their perfect record when they defeated the Patton Springs Rangers 52 to 0 last Friday night at home. Fans in attendance were treated to a solid defensive effort along with a balanced offensive game plan.

Spur golfers organize association

Ever since longtime Spur golf course manager Mike Day met with the Spur city council a few months ago to discuss his eventual retirement, golfers from all around who appreciate the sociability and challenging play on the course have been looking for options to keep it going.

Last Friday night in Knox City was one for the record books, as the visiting Spur Bulldogs scored 104 points in a rout against the hometown Greyhounds. Yes, you read that right—104 points—and a mercyrule ending even so.
