Kent County Lions raise record money from quilt raffle

The Kent County Lions Club, which has built a reputation for strong community support in one of the state’s least-populous counties, presented a one-of-a-kind quilt to the lucky raffle winner at its October 25 luncheon meeting.

Jaybirds tame Jaguars

The Jayton Jaybirds, coming off their bye week, traveled to Guthrie last Friday to face the Jaguars in their second district contest of the season. Having been undefeated all season, the Jaybirds have encountered teams hoping to blemish their perfect record.

4-H HONORS

4-H HONORS Dickens County 4-H had a group judge livestock at the Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo in Waco on October 17. The teams were made up of Porter Abbott, Jaxon Batemen, Wade McGalliard, Mackenzie Gardner, Jaydee Foster and Lyndee Foster. Abbott obtained third high junior individual.
