STATE RUNNER-UP IN JAYTON State Runner-Up Motley County will play in the Gridiron Football Classic in Jayton on Saturday, Aug. 29.

Nancy Shaw 1937–2020

Nancy completed her journey home to be with the Lord on July 1, 2020, at age 82. She was born in Pasadena, California, on August 8, 1937, to Douglas and Ruth Zediker. She married for the first time at a very young age and had three children—two girls and a boy. Later she had another son.

Hot, dry conditions can cause prussic acid and nitrate poisoning

The hot and dry conditions we are currently experiencing in West Texas can cause toxic levels of prussic acid to occur in many annual forages. While many plants contain the toxic materials, the greatest culprits are Johnson grass, haygrazers or forage sorghums—sudan hybrids, and various millets.

According to event leader Margot Hardin of the City of Crosbyton, plans are in place for the annual Truckin’ Along US Route 62/82 yard sales on Saturday, July 18, 2020. The multi-city sale will take place along 50 miles of the fourlane highway from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
