FISHING REPORT

Lake Alan Henry Water clear main lake and 86 degrees; lightly stained up the river and 86 degrees; 2.40' low. Black bass are slow on drop shot rigged 4" Yum Dingers. Bass and crappie are fair at night on minnows. Catfish are fair on live perch and punch bait.

Spur student Hanna Gonzalez awarded Capital Farm Credit scholarship

To further strengthen its commitment to youth in agriculture, Capital Farm Credit is continuing its tradition to award 100 scholarships to Texas students. Spur High School senior Hanna Gonzalez was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from Capital Farm Credit's Spur branch office.

Ferguson awarded scholarship

Julie Beth Ferguson , 2019 Spur High School graduate and valedictorian, has been awarded the $4,000 Cynthia Ann Parker Scholarship. Ferguson will Julie Beth Ferguson be attending Hardin-Simmons University beginning with the 2019 fall semester.

TESS ADAMS/TEXAS SPUR PHOTO NEW SPUR COACH Seth McMinn came to Spur from Claude where he was the junior high teacher of the year. He was born and raised in Panhandle and graduated from Oklahoma Panhandle State University in 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Health. He also played golf for OPSU.
