LESLI RUSH CLARK Forty-three golfers showed up to participate in the fun last week and nine teams were formed. The weather was perfect, although there was not a breeze to be found!

Week of July 10, 2024 Lake Alan Henry GOOD. Water clear; 83 degrees; 0.21 feet below pool. Anticipate increased recreational boater traffic. With the hot days the best fishing is at night under green lights. Crappie are good in 25-35 feet of water on minnows.

Dickens County 4-H hosted a Fashion and Sewing Camp on July 2. Fashionistas from several counties came to learn about the fashion and interior design project. We started off discussing the different contests that are available: Sewing, Buying and Refashion.

Chapmans earn honors at Charolais shows

Calvin Hays and Henry Chapman attended the American International Junior Charolais Association show last week in Belton. They spent the week competing in various contests, attending leadership sessions and showing their heifers. It was a hot but successful week.
