Belinda Lue Bennett Kania, 1951–2021

Belinda Lue Bennett Kania, 70, of Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021. She was born on July 10, 1951 in Rotan, Texas, to Aaron and Pat (Duboise) Bennett.

Belinda graduated from Jayton High School in 1969. She worked at Spur (Texas) Schools for many years, watching many children grow up and graduate. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, always keeping up with her grandchildren’s activities. She was a devoted, lifelong Christian who had a servant’s heart and an unwavering faith and was the best prayer warrior you could have in your corner. She loved watching sports, especially her Spur Bulldogs and Texas Tech Red Raiders, and after moving to Massachusetts, she became an avid Red Sox and Bruins fan. She loved Drew Brees and rooted for the Saints.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Pat Bennett, and a son Chad Emry Arnold.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Lee Kania of Springfield, Mass.; son Reid Arnold and wife Betsy of Spur, Texas; sister Marilyn Bennett of Jayton, Texas; grandchildren Bryn Arnold and Gavin Arnold; and nephew Nathan Stubbs of Stamford, Texas.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday August 21, 2021 at Jayton Cemetery, Jayton, Texas, with Oran Hamilton officiating under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home.

A family and friends dinner and reception is planned in Massachusetts (date to be announced soon).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or a charity of your choice.
