Bonnie Hagar Brannan, 1937–2023

LUBBOCK — Bonnie Hagar Brannan, 85, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away January 11, 2023. Bonnie was born September 9, 1937, in Jayton, Texas, to Clyde Hagar and Willie Hagar. Bonnie had a career in insurance and banking, however, the most important profession for her was pastoring and ministering to others.

Bonnie was someone that loved to travel and plant churches to help spread the Word. Bonnie loved baking, the occasional trip to Olive Garden, reading her Bible, and spending time with family. She had an infectious laugh that the family can still hear. Bonnie married the love of her life J. N. Brannan on July 15, 1976, in Lubbock, Texas, where they continued to work together in their ministry leading people to the Lord. Loved ones include stepson Ray Brannan of Lubbock, Texas; stepdaughter Sharon Brannan Potter of Lubbock, Texas; five grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by parents Clyde and Midge Hagar; sisters Joyce Cherry, Naomi Smith, Vada Melton, Betty Reynolds, Darlene Randolph, and Jean Whalen; and brothers O.V Hagar and Pete Hagar.

Visitation took place at Sanders Funeral Home Monday, January 16, 2023, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. A celebration of her life was scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2023, in Sanders Memorial Chapel. Graveside services followed in Girard Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
