David Max Christopher, 1942–2022

A service was held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, to celebrate Max Christopher’s 80 years of life.

David Max Christopher was born May 24, 1942, to Jim and Lula Christopher in Spur, Texas. He married Suzanne Miller on June 6, 1981, at St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Lubbock, Texas.

Max founded Lubbock Cash Register Company before opening an Allstate Insurance Agency. He later started a new insurance agency in Lubbock, Insure-All. Max participated in AMBUCS and was a member of the Texas Tech Red Raider Club and Lakeridge Country Club. He spent many hours at the country club with his golfing buddies. Max loved playing golf in Ruidoso and going to the horse races. He spent several years as a steward for the American Quarter Horse Association.

He earned many trips and enjoyed traveling with Suzanne and discovering a new golf course. Max and Suzanne were supporters of Texas Tech athletics, especially football and basketball.

Max loved Suzanne Jr. and David and was a devoted father.

He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Christopher; children Suzanne “Jr” Tillman and David Christopher of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Jordan McQuay and Natalia Caywood; sister, Lynda Marshall; several nieces and nephews; BFF, Gary Scott; and fur babies, Holly and Presley.

He is preceded in death by parents, Jim and Lula Christopher; and brothers Chick Christopher, Neil Christopher and Gordon Christopher.

Max died on Thursday, December 8, 2022.
