Debbie Daughtry, 1954–2020

Debbie Daughtry, 65, of Spur, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 11, 2020. She was born July 16, 1954, in Friona, Texas, to Melvin and Ella Hall.

She was a 1972 graduate of Lubbock Coronado High School and graduated from Lubbock Christian University in 1977. She married the love of her life, Robert Daughtry, on August 5, 1978, in Lubbock.

Debbie taught school for 37 years in Spur. She loved her job and working with the children. She was always the first one to school and the last to leave. She was always kind and respectful to everyone she met. Debbie was truly loved by all that knew her. She was a member of Texas State Teachers Association, Retired Teachers Association and Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. Teaching was her passion.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, of Spur, two sons, Toby, of Colorado City, Texas, and Andy, of Spur; two dranddaughters, Payton Foster of Lorenzo, Texas, and Alysa Daughtry of Lubbock; two grandsons, Cory Daughtry of Knox City, Texas, and Johnathan Daughtry of Lubbock; and one brother; Jerry Hall of Carlsbad, New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Jones Stadium in Spur, Texas, with Rev. Bryan Patrick officiating.

The family asks that instead of flowers you make donations to the Spur Ex-Students Association, “Debbie Daughtry Memorial Scholarship Fund,” P.O. Box 243, Spur, TX 79370.

Debbie’s family welcomes all who would like to attend the service, but for everyone’s health and safety, asks that social distancing be practiced.

Service are under the care and direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.
