Diane Vasquez Bunker, 1966–2020

Diane Bunker (Vasquez) beloved wife, devoted mother, and precious daughter and sister went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 9, 2020 in Lubbock, Texas, surrounded by her family.

Diane was born on March 21, 1966, in Spur, Texas, to Jessie Hernandez Vasquez and Gloria Morales Vasquez. She married the love of her life, Steve Bunker, on July 27, 2002. They were blessed with four daughters: Jamie, Isabell, Micki and Gloria.

Diane worked as a server, certified caregiver and homemaker. She loved life and all of those around her. She had the biggest heart, and her faith was even bigger. Diane was a diehard Cowboy fan! Her bubbly personality led her to know no stranger. She was a member of the Lakeside Church of Spur, Texas.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Steve Bunker; daughters Jamie Bunker, Isabell Bonds, Micki Diane Bunker and Gloria Jean Bunker; parents, Jessie and Gloria Vasquez; sisters Grace Vasquez Gonzales and Melissa Vasquez; three grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Santos and Margaret Vasquez and Thomas and Maryann Garcia, and sister Rosemary Vasquez.

Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2020, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spur, Texas, with Father Jeganathan Arulsamy, Wilson Perry, and Clinton Eaton officiating under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Spur Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Diane to Zapata Funeral Home.
