Jettie Faye Garner, 1928–2020

Faye Garner, our wonderful mother, passed away November 27, 2020, to begin her heavenly life. A memorial service to honor her will be held at a later date.

Faye was born July 31, 1928, in Hamlin, Texas, to Floyd and Jettie Renfro. In 1947 she married E.W. (Bunk) Garner and made her home in Spur. She worked and then owned her own flower shop, Faye’s Flowers and Fashions. Faye was well known for her artistic and beautiful flower work; she had compassion for families in time of need for their loved ones. Faye had a great love for people and especially children. She enjoyed life, lived well, loved well and was loved by so many. She received numerous awards over the years: VFW Citizen of the Year, Spur Outstanding Ex Student after being named an Honorary Ex Student and the Silver Spur Award from the Spur Volunteer Fire Department.

Faye is preceded in death by her husband, sister and brother. Her survivors include son Bunky Garner and Debbie Mueller of Austin, Texas and daughter Patricia Geeslin and husband Paul of Lubbock, Texas, and niece Marianne McAllister of Southlake, Texas; grandsons Dakus Geeslin and fiancée Kassi of Buda, Texas, Garner Chad Geeslin and wife Therin of Austin, Texas, Ryan Garner and wife Laresa of Lubbock, Texas, Matthew Garner and wife Megan of Liberty Hill, Texas; and great-grandchildren Sadie Garner, Bradyn and Cadyn Garner, Paul Dakus Geeslin, Garner and Truby Geeslin and Caleb Garner.

Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, she was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. We love you, Mother, a.k.a. Nannie, The Goat, Aunt Faye and Fasie.

Memorials to honor Faye are suggested to Spur Volunteer Fire Department or Dickens County EMS.
