On May 9, 1940, Nonnie Mack Lauderdale was born to Nonnie and Alva Brown Lauderdale in Sweetwater, Texas. He was taken home to the family’s Bandy Ranch in Kent County, Texas, which remained his most loved home and destination throughout his lifetime.

Mack attended school in Jayton, Texas. He played all sports there and graduated from JHS in 1958. He was vicepresident of the senior class and sditor of the 1958 Jaybird Annual, FFA officer 1, 2, 3, and in Junior and Senior Plays.

Mack was a rancher and builder of car engines for circle track racing, where he was a tech supervisor; drag racing; and street performance in Lubbock. He was a machinist for several machine shops in Lubbock, working at Farris Equipment for many years. He was a member of Lone Star Cowboy Church.

Mack and Colette Collett, former classmates at Jayton High School, were married in 1993. They traveled extensively—to the Bandy Ranch. His thoughts on traveling were, “When you can go to the ranch, why go anywhere else?”
