In its regularly scheduled monthly meeting 6 p.m. Oct. 20, 2020, at City Hall, the Spur city council considered and approved a recommendation to reject all seven bids for grantfunded work to be undertaken on city water lines and lift station. Consulting engineer Scott Hays explained that although seven bids was a good participation for a project of this size, even the low bid was still $90,000 over the funding level of the approved Community Development Block Grant.
At the monthly meeting of the Patton Springs Independent School District board on Mon., Oct. 19, minutes of the August special meeting were approved and tax reports and financial statements were reviewed. There was no September regular meeting.

In last week’s news brief, “Spur City Council rejects water and sewer bids,” we reported that bids were rejected during council’s special meeting of Oct. 2. This turns out to be incorrect; council members instead recommended action to reject all bids at the upcoming regular council meeting, scheduled for Oct. 20, 2020. We regret the error.
