Jaybirds have moments but fall to Tigers in Classic

Last weekend the 19th annual Jayton Gridiron Classic saw 14 of the state’s finest six-man football teams gather for a weekend of intense competition. The Jaybirds hosted the May Tigers, who enter the year with a #3 Division 1 ranking.

CROSS COUNTRY

Spur cross country teams competed in Canyon’s 6-Mile Relay on Saturday. For the varsity boys, Preston Pafford placed 8th with 9:38; Andrew Pafford placed 13th with 10:20; and Brandon Garza placed 21st with12:08.

Patton loses to Vernon Northside

Five teams compete in last week’s play

With the beautiful weather we have been having recently, we had enough participants to have five teams formed, and two places were paid out.

Patton Springs ISD “ proudly received a rating of an A,”according to Superintendent Bryan White. “We are extremely excited with our letter grade of a 95.There are 3 categories that make up this rating . . . we got a 92 in Student Achievement, 93 in School Progress and a 100 in Closing the Gaps.
