Spur, Jayton grads represent alma maters one last time at TSMCA All-Star Games

WICHITA FALLS—Pecos Smith and Tripp Scott represented the Jayton Jaybirds athletic program this weekend at the TSMCA All-Star games in Wichita Falls at Midwestern University. Smith played football on Friday night at Memorial Stadium. Scott played basketball on Saturday afternoon at D.L.

GUTHRIE JAGUARS NEW FOOTBALL COACH Jeff Denton has been named the new head football coach at Guthrie High School. Denton comes to Guthrie from Big Spring, where he was an assistant football and track coach the last three years.

SJHS CHEERLEADERS According to sponsor Paige Castellon, the Bullpup cheerleaders had a fantastic three days of camp last week. She said they learned lots of new cheers and dances, worked on perfecting stunts and laughed all the way ay home.

Spur Football Schedule 2021

The Spur Independent School District released its football schedule for the 2021 season. The Bulldogs will open their season at Petersburg on August 27, and finish with a matchup against Paducah for Senior Night on November 5. Take a look at the full schedule below.

Spur’s Madison Givens with missions group in Tanzania

Last week, Spur’s Madison Givens, valedictorian of the Spur High School Class of 2021, travelled across the globe with Baba’s Glory, a non-profit ministry that operates worldwide. The mission group has been in Arusha, Tanzania.
