Spur alum receives Hardin-Simmons award

ABILENE—Spur High School graduate Julie Beth Ferguson was awarded the J.L. Cole Scholarship at the Hardin-Simmons Social Work Banquet on April 29, 2021. The recipient must be a social work major who possesses strong values and ethics in the field and shows high leadership and academic promise.

Spur students compete in local chess championship

For the past two months, a new club has been meeting at the Spur school to play chess. The group meets on Monday afternoons in the cafeteria for practice and over the board games.
