As the calendar flips from July to August, area students, teachers and school administrators are turning their thoughts from vacations and summer break to gearing up for classes, sports and extracurricular activities.

WICHITA FALLS—Pecos Smith and Tripp Scott represented the Jayton Jaybirds athletic program this weekend at the TSMCA All-Star games in Wichita Falls at Midwestern University. Smith played football on Friday night at Memorial Stadium.

SJHS CHEERLEADERS According to sponsor Paige Castellon, the Bullpup cheerleaders had a fantastic three days of camp last week. She said they learned lots of new cheers and dances, worked on perfecting stunts and laughed all the way ay home.

Spur Football Schedule 2021

The Spur Independent School District released its football schedule for the 2021 season. The Bulldogs will open their season at Petersburg on August 27, and finish with a matchup against Paducah for Senior Night on November 5.
