UIL suspends spring season indefinitely, hopes to complete all state championships

Hunt virtual Easter eggs around town

The Dickens County-Spur Library would like to give kids something to do this Easter! They hope to “hide” eggs throughout the community and children can “find” them with tips from social media. The library has made virtual Easter egg hunt sheets for kiddos available for pick up outside the library.

Jayton Jaybirds selected for numerous honors

This past week, Texas high school athletics organizations recognized eight members of the 2019–20 Jayton Jaybirds basketball squad, for district and state honors. Of the eight, Hunter Gilbert, Aaron Hernandez and Tye Scogin are graduating seniors.

UIL extends suspension into early May

STAFF REPORTS Following Governor Greg Abbott’s emergency declaration Thursday, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) extended its suspension of all school extracurricular activities into May. With the extension, the earliest regular UIL activities can resume is May 4, 2020.
