STATE BOUND

Spur ISD recently participated in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Regional Conference in Lubbock. Each of these students advanced to the state competition that will be held in April in Dallas.

Appletons take over as directors of CrossView camp

The Dickens-based Cross-View Christian Camp will welcome new leaders Seth Appleton as camp director and Kassi Appleton as director of development this month, according to information shared by the organization. The Appletons were hired by CrossView’s board January 19.

The seeding is set. Guthrie, Spur and Motley County are number one, two and three seeds respectively in girls’ basketball.

Jayton and Paducah: District co-champions?

As of press time Tuesday: if Jayton and Paducah have both won Tuesday night, Feb. 18, according to Jaybirds coach Ryan Bleiker, they will be district co-champions. Jayton will be number one seed, and Paducah will be number two seed in the playoffs. Spur is already number three seed.
