Lake Alan Henry FAIR. Water clear 80–84 degrees; 3.59' low. Largemouth bass are good on rigged worms, spinner baits and crank baits. Early in the morning buzz-baits have been successful. Crappie are fair on minnows, and jigs. Catfish are fair on live bait and stink bait.

Spurettes 2nd at Wichita Falls XC meet Thursday; Zarate finishes 2nd overall with new personal record

The Spurettes finished 2nd overall at the Wichita Falls Cross Country Meet Thursday. Bucki Smith finished 2nd overall. The varsity boys moved up a division and competed against 5A/6A runners. They finished 4th out of 8 teams against schools with 10 times Spur’s enrollment.

In their first away contest of the season, the Jayton Jaybirds defeated the Petersburg Buffalos 75 to 26. While the score appeared to be lopsided in Jay-ton’s favor, spectators saw a different game.
