“A Minecraft Movie,” the number one movie in U.S. box office returns for 2025 to date, will be showing at The Palace Theater in downtown Spur Saturday, Aug. 9. Sponsored by Dickens County’s local Galaxy Digital plant, the PG-13 movie is based on the widely popular video game and stars Jack Black.

According to a social media post Aug. 4, G-Ma’s Coffee & More at 201 Burlington Avenue in Spur will cease operations after Aug. 6. “G-Ma’s would like to Thank everyone for the last 3 years,” read the Facebook post. “But I am sad to say G-Ma’s will be closing down after Wednesday.
