L.Z. “Sonny” Tilley, 75, of Spur, Texas, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020, in Clyde, Texas. Sonny was born on November 10, 1944, in San Angelo, Texas, to L.C. Tilley and Thelma Fay (Hale) Tilley. Sonny worked and retired as a lineman with the power company.

Janie Alexander, 1924–2020

Daryl Rea Shafer, 72, rode off into his final sunset in Matador, Texas, on June 3, 2020. Daryl was born March 19, 1948, to Fred and Dorothy Louise (Rea) Shafer in Roscoe, Texas. Daryl was a master leather crafter. He loved being a cowboy and doing day working, and also enjoyed team roping.

Linda Lee Dement, 1941–2020

Linda Lee Dement, 78, of Lubbock was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on Thursday, June 4, 2020 in Lubbock. Linda was born on June 25, 1941 in Spur, Texas, to Slim W.B. Carothers and Myrtle Ora Sedgwick Carothers. She was raised in Afton, Texas, and baptized in the Afton Baptist Church.

Mary Lynn Harrison Johnson 1928-2020

Mary Lynn Harrison Johnson, a sweet and godly woman, loved by many, passed away May 24, 2020, from natural causes. She was 92 years old. She was the daughter of George and Virginia Harrison and was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 3, 1928. She married John Martin Johnson August 11, 1945.

Bobby Shane Long, 1977–2020

Bobby Shane Long was born January 10, 1977. He passed away from this life to his new and wonderful life on April 12, 2020. Shane was a true country boy—if he had a fishing pole in his hand he was happy as he could be. When he smiled it was big as the sky.

Darl Glen Walker, 1943–2020

Darl Glen Walker was born in Brownfield, Texas, on April 16, 1943, to Lee and Alleta (Edie) White Walker. He was the youngest of four older sisters and was raised in Meadow, Texas, and on a ranch near White River Lake. Darl graduated Meadow High School and attended West Texas State University.

Alfred William Walker, 1925–2020

Alfred William Walker died on April 8, 2020. He was born December 14, 1925, in Childress, Texas, and grew up in Spur, Texas. He attended NTAC before enlisting in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He graduated from Baylor University and Baylor Law School.

Ellen Marie Byrd, 1942–2020

Marie Byrd gained her wings on Saturday March 21, 2020, surrounded by her children after a long battle with cancer. Marie was born on March 31, 1942, to Fon and Vivian Shaw. She was the 13th of 14 children.
