Area One-Act Plays bring classic favorites to stage

It’s that time of year again—UIL One-Act Play time, that is. Jayton and Spur high school drama troupes are busy preparing for ambitious productions they will workshop during clinics and then stage for district contests in Spur on March 5.

#8 Jayton topples #5 Paducah to top District 15-1A standings

It’s rare for a 1A district to have one team in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches’ top 10 in the state poll, but doubly unusual to have two. For the past two seasons Paducah and Jayton have not only been neckand-neck in District 15-1A, but also in the TABC state rankings.

1. LaPoynor (23-2) 2. Slidell (20-7) 3. Graford (20-6) 4. Borden County (20-2) 5. Jayton (20-2) 6. Paducah (17-4) 7. Nazareth (16-7) 8. Eula (20-5) 9. Texline (18-5) 10. Leggett (20-6) 11. Laneville (17-6) 12. Irion County (22-0) 13. Waelder (22-6) 14. Neches (13-9) 15. Dime Box (15-7) 16.
