Spur split a pair of games last week versus the Ira Bulldogs. The Spurettes prevailed 50-49 in overtime, and the Spur Bulldogs (above) fell to Ira 56-39.

YOUTH TOUR WINNER

Since 1965, high school juniors and seniors in the South Plains Electric Cooperative service area have competed in three local contests for a chance to win an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C.

PATTON IN UIL

At the Christmas at Tech math/science UIL meet Saturday, Madison White and Jaxon White of Patton Springs competed in the 1A-2A division along with 11 other schools. In Calculator Applications, Jaxon won 3rd place and Madison won 4th place.

SPURETTE SUCCESS

The Spur High School Spurettes (7-6) went 2-2 this weekend at the New Home Tourney. They lost to 1A #5 New Home 66-39, lost to 2A #22 Farwell 47-36, then beat Petersburg 49-48 in a second overtime and subsequently defeated All Saints 47-27.
