In the June regular monthly meeting of the Spur Independent School District board of trustees, Stephanie Martinez presented the school board with a certificate valued at $2,500 on behalf of the DKG Gamma ETA Society. Trustees also recognized all State FFA qualifiers.

Spur Senior Citizens

The Spur Senior Citizens Center, located at 210 Burlington Ave., will be serving a noon meal Monday through Friday. The dining room is open, or if you feel more comfortable during the Covid-19 pandemic, we are offering a curbside lunch you can reserve by calling (806) 271-4472.

Arrest made in Spur assault

On June 26, the Dickens County sheriff’s office arrested Matthew Olivarez of Spur on charges of burglary of a habitation in West Harris Street with intent to commit assault, a first degree felony, pursuant to a warrant issued by the Spur Police Department, according to police chief Billy R. Spears.
