Spur’s Martin spends week in Washington on SPEC Youth Tour

Tristen Martin, a 2022 graduate of Spur High School, spent a week in Washington, D.C., thanks to South Plains Electric Cooperative.

The first annual Golf’in with Nanna Debbie tournament was held at the course on June 25th and 26th. Nine three-person teams came out to scramble. This tournament was held to support the Debbie Daughtry Memorial Scholarship Fund, which is awarded by the Spur Ex-Students’ Association each year.

The regular monthly Board meeting of the Spur Golf Association was held on June 8, 2022. With lots of hard work and time, the greens are continuing to improve. Thank you to all who have been helping with this huge ongoing task. It is very much appreciated. Workdays are held each Monday at 5 p.m.

Patton Springs graduates receive scholarships

The following seniors from Patton Springs High School recently received college scholarships. Kinley Chandler, daughter of Russell and Crissy Chandler of Roaring Springs, was awarded the Ralph Marshall Academic Scholarship in the amount of $250 each semester.

Texas comptroller distributes $1.2 Billion in monthly sales tax revenue to local governments

AUSTIN— Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced this week he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $1.2 billion in local sales tax allocations for May, 11.8 percent more than in May 2021.
