Jayton throttles Throckmorton for Bi-District win

The goal for the Jayton Jaybirds in their Bi-District playoff game against the Throckmorton Greyhounds was to employ the shock and awe factor from the opening play. Boy did they ever accomplish their goal.

Jaybirds tame Tigers, look to postseason

After a heartbreaking loss against Leuders-Avoca, the Jayton Jaybirds found their footing against the playoff-bound Groom Tigers in a 62–16 victory. The Jaybirds exploded with a 34 point 2nd quarter, overwhelming the Tigers, and never looked back.

Future is bright for 7-3 Bulldogs

The Bulldogs closed out their season Friday defeating the Rotan Yellowhammers 46-20. It was a game the Bulldogs were expected to win but injuries and a malfunctioning scoreboard made this one tougher than it should have been.

Kangaroos thump Rangers in final game of 2018

The Patton Springs Rangers faced off at their own house this past Friday, Nov. 9 against the Kress Kangaroos for what would be the last game of the season for both teams. The Kangaroos came out firing in the first quarter, completing 2 touchdown receptions and rushing for a 45-yard touchdown.

Jaybirds stunned by Raiders

With the district championship on the line, both the Lueders-Avoca Raiders and the Jayton Jaybirds knew that many in West Texas would be looking for a solid matchup between two evenly matched squads. Spectators hoping for an exciting game would not be disappointed.

The Patton Springs Rangers traveled to Silverton Thursday, Nov. 2 to face off with the Owls in their second district game of the season.

Don’t bring a bird to a dog fight

The Spur Bulldogs faced off against their third straight top-twenty opponent Friday night, Nov. 3 at Jones Stadium, and after narrowly falling to Ira and Aspermont, the Bulldogs would leave no doubt against the Hermleigh Cardinals, defeating them 80-53 on a game that never was that close.
