23 compete in scramble

LESLI RUSH CLARK We had 23 golfers show to participate in last weeks’ Tuesday Scramble. I am pleased with that number because we seriously considered canceling due to to chance of storms!

Diezel Ramirez, valedictorian of Patton Springs High School, recently received a $20,000 scholarship from Texas 4-H and the Houston Livestock Show, recognizing his dedication and leadership.

The Spur Bulldogs, Jayton Jaybirds and Lady Jays track teams competed in the 1A State Track Meet at Mike A. Myers Stadium on Saturday, May 3. Each team looked to capitalize on the momentum they had built through the Area and Regional track meets and made an impressive showing.

From what I have heard, it seems like it was a great and amazing day for this 4-person scramble to raise funds in memory of a very special lady. It makes my heart explode that the scramble was a success!

THREE STUDENTS TAKE 1ST PLACE AWARDS STAFF REPORTS On April 30 the Dickens County 4-H members attended District 3 Round Up in Vernon Texas. They competed in Share the Fun (a talent show contest), Educational Presentations and Consumer Decision Making.
