Jayton boys win Mae Simmons XC meet, girls finish 4th

TheJaytonHighSchool Varsity Cross Country teams competed in the Lubbock Invitational at Mae Simmons Park. The Lady Jays finished 4th, with Jace Chisum taking first place. The Jaybirds posted great individual times as well taking home the championship.

In their second meet of the season, all the girls improved their times on a more difficult course. Olivia Ortiz earned a medal, with a 14:41 time for 24th place. The teams were slated to run Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, at the Rattlesnake Run in Guthrie.

Spur JV played Ira on Thursday, Sept. 5 at Jones Stadium in Spur. It was a beautiful night for football. Although Spur did not come out on top, they played a great game. The Spur Bulldogs #12 Willie Ortiz was able to score once for the Bulldogs in the four quarters.

Spur Bulldogs start season with win

The Bulldogs launched their 2024-25 season on their home field at Jones Stadium August 29 against the Wellman-Union Wildcats. The familiar atmosphere for six-man football was filled with excitement as the teams warmed up and the fans flooded the stands.
